To the random man in the hair salon, who tried to chat me up while I was reading Tropic of Cancer, but in the end encouraged me to grab this domain name,
I thank you.
In an effort to get the conversation away from the debaucherous book I was reading, I mentioned I was a writer and needed to get a website and already had a domain name in mind, but was procrastinating as usual. You simply said to grab the domain before someone else does, why wait? So I did.
It’s now been a year and this has become part of my bio when I get published on a website. It’s become a place to tell people where and when I’m reading and then blog about it after. It’s even become the first point of contact for a friendship.
So I thank you for not being a total creeper and for talking to me like a human being. You may have not understood that reading a book is the international symbol for 'leave me alone I'm just waiting for my friend to get her hair done' but for once that was totally ok.
